    Our Methodology

Our teams of consultants apply a full and comprehensive process that ensures we provide you with the best quality in service available within the marketplace. Beginning with a Client Meeting and culminating in Reference checks, each step of our process is carefully monitored and managed by a sophisticated management software platform. This is designed to ensure that we live up to your expectations in being able to identify not only the right technical competency for your recruitment needs, but also the right, behavioral, cerebral and cultural fit.

Information gathering from Client
A Spark Consultant will where possible and as a preference, arranges a meeting with the HR Manager/Line Manager to gain an understanding of your needs. We shall define your organization in terms of its history, market position and future aspirations. We will understand your product range and personnel matrix that directly affects your recruitment needs. Then we will articulate with you a clear understanding of the functionality of the role. We will seek to understand both responsibilities and accountabilities, now and as the role evolves. Then we will define the utopian person sought, with the ability to cover all aspects of experience, education and behavioral traits.

Confirmation
Following on from the client meeting, a consultant will confirm in writing their understanding of your requirements. This ensures a clear and defined target profile to be agreed prior to the resource phase of the process kicking off. It is designed to save time in us not talking to candidates that do not meet your clearly articulated aspirations.

Media Consultation
A Spark consultant will be available for consultation on possible advertising approaches and campaigns.

Resume selection
Resumes will be vetted and selected from a number of various sources, such as our world class, cutting edge database, network of contacts and advertising across the wide range of media at our disposal. Our marketing Brand Value and Brand Collateral have been specifically designed to stimulate the most discerning of Job Seeker to create Spark Consultancies as an environment of credibility and professionalism. As such we have attracted career profiles from extremely senior and highly specialist individuals. We strongly believe that Spark possesses the best quality and most comprehensive database of resumes.

  • Database

  • Networking

    Spark will use its network of contacts to identify suitable candidates. Additionally, being part of the Spark Management services Pvt. Limited enables Spark to draw on far wider network of individuals and resources than would be otherwise possible in a stand-alone organization. This is especially relevant on the more senior assignments that are handled by Spark.

  • Advertising

    Our bespoke advertising will be designed to target specific individuals. We will advertise through our website as well as local, regional and international publications, websites and portals. At Spark, we do not believe in the advertising premise of ‘throw mud at the wall and hope some sticks’. Each advert is meticulously compiled to present our client and the position contained within in the best possible way. Often this requires discretion and even anonymity, areas in which we are well versed. Our clients approve all adverts beforehand, so nothing will appear in the press that you have not first authorized.

Pre-Screening Interview all candidates
Spark consultants will have preliminary telephone conversations with targeted candidates. All candidates will be first subjected to a thorough qualification process whereby we will benchmark competencies against the detailed profile earlier obtained and agreed at the client meeting. Those candidates that ‘make the grade’ will be invited to our offices (or met elsewhere if appropriate) for a formal and thorough interview. All of the consultants at Spark have received and apply professional interview training techniques. In addition, many of them are qualified as Psychometric Assessors (see Psychometric Assessment). Consultants will construct a detailed candidate profile based on the information gained from the interview and present this to our client along with the candidate’s own resume.

Profiling
Clients will receive a detailed profile for each short listed candidate based on the interview. Profiles can be tailored to suit client’s key competencies or criteria. Profiles give further insight into an individual beyond that of the more static information usually contained in a CV. This will include data on current remuneration, notice periods and any other mitigating factors.

Psychometric assessment Optional
As an additional tool in the selection process, Spark can offer psychometric assessment. As individuals, people are different to each other in various ways. Psychometrics are concerned with the measurement of individual differences along the lines of numerical and verbal ability, abstract reasoning and special awareness.

If we have accurately measured and reported some aspect of the person, we can use that information for the benefit of the individual or organization.

Personality questionnaires provide a fair, objective and cost-effective method of predicting likely behavior in a wide range of settings. They can be used to determine a personality profile across a broad spectrum of characteristics as well as matching core competences for specific job roles.

Spark offers a full range of measures of ability, personality, interests and values, using internationally recognized psychometric assessment methods. Spark has consultants that are trained in administering and interpreting general reasoning as well as personality questionnaires 15FQ+ and OPP.

Short List
A final shortlist of suitable candidates is presented to a client, which will comprise of a resume and profile. Where possible this be done in person, however, if this is not possible information can be sent electronically. Shortlists are typically 2-3 CV’s, however this is dependant upon specific needs.

Facilitate selection and contract negotiation
Spark consultants will facilitate final interviews and are available to liaise with the successfully selected candidate on behalf of the client regarding an offer of employment. Contract negotiation is a delicate procedure. By allowing Spark consultants to act as the 3rd party mediator, candidates and clients are offered an impartial view of their positions, smoothing the process for both parties.

Reference checks
Spark consultants will undergo reference checks for clients if required. We are able to use our standard template of questions or can consult with a client to ask more probing and specific questions.
