The Paper Presentation Contest
|

(In association with IEEE NITW Chapter )
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
-
There shall be no
limit on the number of participating teams from a college.
-
The number of
participants for one paper is limited to 3.
-
Any participant
should not participate in more than two papers.
-
Authors are invited to submit papers of not more than 8 pages of double column text using single-spaced (in PDF format), 10-point font size on 8.5 x 11 inch pages, as per IEEE 8.5 x 11 manuscript guidelines.
-
The final paper
should be submitted in hard copy in the PRESCRIBED FORMAT ONLY and also in
soft copy in a COMPACT DISC.

The hard-copy in the
prescribed format should be typed/printed on A4 size sheet on one side
only and should be limited to 8 pages including appendices, figures and
tables.

Last date of submission of papers in soft copies is extended to January 4th, 2008. Papers received
after the deadline shall not be entertained.

The jury’s decision
regarding the winner and the prizes would be final and binding to all.

Judging Criteria
The judging criteria are on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being
the highest rating:

Written
Presentation Portion

Form (35% of overall score)
- Concise, informative abstract
- Adequacy of introduction
- Logical development and analytical treatment in the body
- Adequacy of conclusion (delivers on the promise of the introduction)
- Compliance with format
- Clarity and directness

Subject Matter (20% of overall score)
- Originality of ideas, procedures, processes, designs, results, or conclusions
- For paper based on literature: originality of analysis and interpretation
- Quality and level of content
- Appropriateness, interest, and importance
- Factual and technical accuracy

Oral Presentation
Portion
- Form (35% of overall score)
- Adequacy of introduction and conclusion
- Logical development of major points
- Flow and balance of subject material
- Poise, eye contact, and manners
- Grammar, fluency and word choices
- Clarity and directness (Tone, pace, annunciation, volume and delivery)
- Use of graphic aids
- Subject Matter (20% of overall score)
- Technical and factual accuracy, grasp of the subject
- Use of examples, metaphors, and analogies
Note:
a)
The RULES and REGULATIONS, dates and timings are subject to change. All
participants would be informed in advance regarding such changes.
b) The
organizers of the contest would not be liable for any delay in transit of
the submitted papers or abstract.
c) No changes would be allowed after
submission of the paper.
d) The final participants would be
